Tanya Lukas, a Fort Worth, Texas native, grew up with horses. Her equestrian passion led her to compete in many disciplines, from barrel racing, to reining, to 15 years competing on the “A” circuit in hunter/jumper events. Because of her life-long love of horses, she set her eyes on learning all she could about buying and selling equestrian-suitable properties. It was a natural course of action for her to obtain her real estate sales agent’s license in 2006, specializing in farm and ranch as well as in residential and commercial properties.
In 2008, Tanya earned her Accredited Buyers’ Representative (ABR), followed in 2009 by the Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) designations. In today’s competitive business environment, Tanya felt that adding those designations was the best way to stand out to prospective buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth knowledge on technical subjects as well as on the fundamentals of real estate.
Her former career as an air traffic controller (USAF and FAA) trained her to develop nerves of steel in managing stressful situations. She draws on that discipline when it comes to negotiating complicated contracts and handling difficult closings. Whether working with first-time buyers or seasoned professional investors, she takes her clients from contract to closing professionally, skillfully, and with their best interest at heart.
Tanya and her husband live on a small ranch in Mineral Wells where they raise a few Quarter Horses along with Belted Galloway beef cattle. In their spare time, they enjoy trail riding, snow skiing, and international travel – particularly if there’s horseback riding involved. In addition to her passion for horses, Tanya is an award-winning, international best-selling author of historical fiction and contemporary suspense thrillers. Writing under the pen-name T.K. Lukas, her novels can be found on Amazon.
